Miriam A. Lipscomb

August 13, 1946 — December 18, 2009

Miriam A. “Mary” Lipscomb, 63, of Morgantown, received her personal invitation for a Heavenly celebration on Dec. 18, 2009. She was born Aug. 13, 1946, the daughter of the late Albert and Luvada Croucher. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt who will be sorely missed. She was a member of The Lighthouse Cathedral, on the Kingwood Pike. Despite her health, she faithfully attended so she could worship and love God, as well as encourage and bless her church family. Vacation Bible School was especially important to her, as it combined her two great loves: God and children of all ages. She enjoyed cooking, baking, crafting, hunting, fishing, and camping; but, she found her greatest joy in helping others. She is survived by three sons, Don Lipscomb and spouse Serita of Morgantown, Patrick Lipscomb and spouse Beth of Smithfield, PA, and Roy Jenkins of WV; one “daughter”, Ellen Hovatter of Morgantown; five grandchildren, Tiffany, Jessica, Patrick Jr., Tyler, and Daniel; six brothers, Ernest McIe and Elmer McIe, both of Morgantown, Paul Croucher of Shinnston, James “Flywheel” Croucher of Mt. Morris, PA, Albert Croucher and Ray Croucher, both of Charleston, WV; two sisters, Beulah Parcel of St. Joseph, MO, and Alberta Nestor of Morgantown; along with a large extended family and many friends, all of whom are going to miss “Aunt Mary.” She was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Lipscomb, and six brothers and sisters in infancy. Friends are invited to join the family in remembering Mary’s life and celebrating her going home at The Lighthouse Cathedral, Kingwood Pike, Morgantown, on Monday, Dec. 21, from 11 a.m. -3 p.m. and 5-10 p.m. and on Tuesday, Dec. 22, from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. The funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 22, at the church, with Pastor Jon E. Henry and Asst. Pastor Don A. Lipscomb officiating. Interment will be Wednesday, Dec. 23, at 1 p.m., at the Bethel Cemetery.
