Michael J. O'Connor Michael J. O'Connor, 57 of Morgantown passed away Monday, February 3, 2014 at the Monongalia General Hospital. He was born June 13, 1956 in Seward, Alaska, the son of the late Jack and Joan Bogan O'Connor. Michael proudly served his country for 10 years with the U S Army, where he operated and drove a tank for the 1st Calvary. After his discharge, he wanted to help others. He was a Psychiatric Specialist, a chemical dependence counselor technician and involved in the Regional alcohol and drug abuse counselor training program in the state of Alaska. He is survived by his wife Carmelia Garnek O'Connor, a step daughter and spouse Sherry-Lynn Huggins and Robert, a step son Scotty Kerns both of Morgantown, 3 grandchildren ShayLynn Huggins, Aidan Kerns and Cullen Kerns, 3 Sisters Joan Sickora of Cleveland, Ohio, Pam Clayton of Everson,WA and Delphine Bogan and Anchorage, AK and a brother Patrick O'Connor of Anchorage,AK. In addition to his parents, Michael was preceded in death by a son Michael James Edward O'Connor Jr. Friends may call at the Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home on Friday, February 7, 2014 from 2-4 and 6-8pm and again on Saturday from 10am until the time of services at 11am with Father John Peck O.S.B. officiating.
