Michael Kim McFarland,

63, of Morgantown, passed away Wednesday, November 8, 2017, surrounded by his loving family at UPMC Montefiore, in Pittsburgh.

Son of the late Bobby Junior & Virginia Garrett McFarland he was born May 29, 1954, in Morgantown.

Mike was employed by MEC Construction where he was as heavy equipment operator.

Mike is survived by his wife, Carla Coulter McFarland; his sons: Michael, Christopher, Tristan and Shawn McFarland; his daughters, Mikelyn Kim McFarland, Becca and Aalayia McFarland, Danielle McGee and Natalie McFarland of Houston, TX; two grandsons, Aden and Ari McFarland; two brothers, Mark McFarland and Jon McFarland and his wife, Danyeal, a sister, Robin Jones and her husband John. He is also survived by a very special aunt, Jane Garrett; and several nieces and nephews.

Mike enjoyed several years of dirt car racing and made many lifelong friends. He spent many evenings go cart racing with his sons and grandsons and his friend Danny Clark. He had many good friends just too numerous to name.

Christmas was a magical time of year for Mike. It’s when he shined his brightest. He loved doing the shopping and wrapping for his family.

Family will receive friends at Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home, Saturday, November 11, 2017 from 11am until the 1pm funeral service will Rev. Brad Hudson officiating. A private burial will be held at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you keep Mike’s Christmas magic alive and help a child in need.
