Michael 'Mac' Joseph Mcclurg

September 17, 1956 — December 8, 2020

Michael Joseph ‘Mac’ McClurg, 64, of Morgantown, passed away at the home of his former wife, now friend, Kathy Huffman in Bridgeport, WV. Mac was born in Morgantown, a son to Betty Taylor McClurg of Morgantown and the late Wendell Gene ‘Mac’ McClurg, Sr.

Mac graduated from University High School and later retired from WVU in 2018 with nearly 40 years of service. Mac was a Veteran of the US Army from 1977 to 1979. Mac was stationed in Germany, where he was a tank driver. Following his retirement, he enjoyed spending time at Big Bear Lake. Every day he made his rounds on his golf cart, visiting with camp family. He also enjoyed traveling to NC to spend time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his two daughters, Jessica McClurg Rogers and husband William of Raeford, NC and Amanda Jo McClurg of Morgantown; his mother, Betty L. (Taylor) McClurg; siblings, Monica (McClurg) Taylor and spouse of Wadestown, Barry McClurg of Morgantown, Penny (McClurg) Luzader of Clarksburg, Corinne (McClurg) Seese and spouse of Morgantown, Shawn McClurg of Morgantown; his military brother, Danny Lemley and spouse of Marietta, OH; grandchildren, Erika Lynn Rogers, Pappy’s Cutie Pie, Kensley Lauren Rogers, Pappy’s Baby Doll, Avery Leigh Rogers, Pappy’s Hippie, Bryan Michael Zeigler, and Pappy’s Rowdy Boy, Wyatt Lane Zeigler.

Also surviving are nieces and nephews, Nicole Rose, Denzil Luzader III, and spouse, Joshua Luzader, Nathan Strickler, Barry McClurg Jr and spouse, Kirsten McClurg, Rachel Seese, Zachary Seese, Gabriel Seese, and Scott Myers and spouse.

He was preceded in death by his father, Wendell ‘Mac’ McClurg, Sr., and his maternal and paternal grandparents.

The family will hold private services under the direction of the Fred Jenkins Funeral Home. Mac will be laid to rest at the Forks of Cheat Cemetery with military graveside rites conducted by the Preston County Honor Guard and WVANG Honor Guard, Camp Dawson.
