Melvin Lee Canfield

Loving husband, father and grandfather, Melvin Lee Canfield, 60 went to be with the Lord on Saturday December 31, 2011 at his home. He was born October 20, 1951 in Keyser, WV son of the late Dewy Melvin Canfield and Betty Lee Wolfe Canfield Forbes. Melvin was a UHS graduate and worked for the WVU Physical Plant for nearly 40 years. He was an avid Mountaineer and Steeler fan. He is survived by his wife of 33 years Mrs. Betty Jean Hughes Canfield of Westover; three daughters, Tiffany Ann Rife, Stephanie Jo Canfield and Brittany Noel Canfield; two grandchildren Lillian Rae Rife and John Christopher William Rife all of Morgantown. Also surviving is his sister-in-law Kim L. Hughes; brother-in-law William Hughes, Jr., and mother-in-law Mary Lou Hughes along with several cousins. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his Aunt Helen Canfield and his father-in-law William Hughes, Sr. Friends may call at the Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home on Tuesday January 3, 2012 from 3-5 and 7-9pm and again on Wednesday from 10am until time of services at 11am with Rev. Richard Work officiating. Burial will follow at the Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens.
