Melissa Ann Menear

Melissa Ann Menear, 38 of Kingwood passed away Friday, January 18, 2013 at her residence surrounded by her caregiver and best friend Lisa LaRue and other friends. She was born July 6, 1974 in Morgantown, the daughter of the late Carl Menear and Barbara Basinger. Melissa was employed as a Registered Nurse at WVU Children's Hospital, Ruby Memorial. Prior to WVU , she was a travel nurse, which she greatly enjoyed. She also attended the First Christian Church as well as the Chestnut Ridge Church. Melissa loved being a nurse, enjoyed traveling, Vera Bradley Bingo, spending time with family and friends, and most of importantly , she loved being with "sweet baby girl" Bailey. In addition to her caregiver Lisa, she is survived by an uncle Larry Menear of Morgantown, Great Aunts Joan Nabors of Morgantown, Carmella Urick of Morgantown, Mary Ann Ruppert of TN, Great Uncles Henry Baniak of Masontown, WV, Joe Baniak of Morgantown and Andrew Baniak of California; also a very close family friend Kelli Weldoss, and several other cousins as well as her faithful canine companion, Bailey. In addition to her parents, Melissa was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Jake and Wanda Baniak Basinger, and her paternal grandparents Carl Todd and Ula Dorthy Menear. Friends may call at the Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 22, 2013 from 3-5 and 7-9pm. Funeral services will be held at 11am Wednesday at the funeral home with Rev. Ray Frankhouser officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Kingwood. In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to the funeral home.
