Mary Alice Snyder

Mary Alice Snyder, 76, of Morgantown, passed away Saturday October 27, 2012 at Ruby Memorial Hospital after a two year battle with ALS. She was born October 12, 1936 in the Cheat Lake region of WV, a daughter of the late Chaucer and Hazel Henrietta Rogers Hall. Mary Alice was a graduate of West Virginia University. After graduation she worked as a school teacher and later in life as a travel agent for Executive Travel in Mclean, VA. She was a very active member of the First Baptist Church of Morgantown. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and traveling, especially to the National Storytelling Festival in Jonesborough, TN each fall. She was a member of the Morgantown Garden Club. And, at one time, she owned and operated an antique store. Most of all, Mary Alice was a very attentive and proud grandmother to her four grandchildren. Mary Alice is survived by her beloved husband of over 50 years James Snyder of Morgantown; two sons and daughters-in-law, Marc Alan Snyder and wife Marti Haykin of Greensburg, PA and Jeffrey Brooks Snyder and wife Sherry of Downingtown, PA. Her four grandchildren are Michael William Snyder, Madeline Nicole Snyder both of Downingtown, PA, Rachel Alexandra Snyder, Katie Elizabeth Snyder both of Greensburg, PA. Brother, Ralph R. Hall lives in Gladesville, WV; mother-in-law, Olive Fern Snyder resides in Suncrest, Morgantown, and a nephew, Eric Glenn Hall lives in Rockville, MD. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Donald C. Hall and his wife Ruby. Friends will be received at the Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home Tuesday October 30, 2012 from 4-7pm and again on Wednesday from 10am until time of funeral services at 11am with Dr. Al Cooper officiating. Burial will follow at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens.
