Mary Rancinger

Mary Catherine Rancinger Mary Catherine Rancinger, 92 of Morgantown passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at the Sundale Nursing Home. She was born August 31, 1920 at Thomas, WV the daughter of the late Amos and Flossie Johnston Carr. Mary was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Morgantown. She earned her teaching degree from Fairmont State College in 1944.She taught for 42 years, starting at Pursglove Hollow in a two room school house. Her passion for teaching enabled her to set up a scholarship fund at Fairmont State in her and her late husbands, Victor's name. She is survived by her nieces and nephews Donna Fata, Bob and Mary Lois Somers, Sally Schwing, Martha Hellyer, Tom and Irene Hellyer, Bobby and Sue Carr as well as many other nieces and nephews. Also surviving is a very close friend, Gretchen Brown. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband Victor Rancinger, brothers Robert Thomas Carr, Edward Ervin Carr and William Ray Carr. Sisters Nellie Jeanette Somers, Gladys Elizabeth Hellyer, Norma Jean Roberts and Virginia Mae Howard. Friend may call at the Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home on Friday, May 24, 2013 from 3-8pm. Mary will lie in repose on Saturday at St. Paul Lutheran Church from 12 noon until the time of services at 1pm with Pastor Jerry Kliner officiating. Burial will follow in the East Oak Grove Cemetery.
