Mary Lou Kantes

Mary Lou McCann Kantes, 92, of Gladesville Community, passed away Thursday June 20, 2019 at her daughter's home. She was born on March 20, 1927 in Masontown, PA a daughter of the late Ellen Ewart McCann and Wallace McCann. She retired from the WVU Extension Office where she worked as a secretary. She is survived by one daughter Mary Ellen Holmes and husband Ron; two sons Joseph W. Kantes, Jr. and wife Linda and Robert E. Kantes and wife Lana all of Gladesville; five grandchildren Angie, Teresa, Lisa, Amber, and Brittany; and nine great grandchildren Evan, Austin, Alyssa, Bethany, Kylee, Jordan, Morgan, Trey, and Jackson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Joseph W. Kantes, Sr.; one daughter Joanna M. Kantes; one brother, PFC Robert McCann, who died in World War II; and four sisters Helen McCarty, Margaret Avery, Betty Jenkins, and Barbara Bohan. The family wishes to thank Paula, Lori, Dennis and Shelley from WV Caring for all of their love and caring support. Honoring Mary's wishes there will be no visitation or services. Cremation is being provided by Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home with burial to follow at East Oak Grove Cemetery.
