Mary Lou (Rancjik) Hughes, 87, of Osage was called to her heavenly home on Sunday, September 20, 2015. Born June 15, 1928, the daughter of the late James and Bessie (Hall) Rancjik. She graduated from University High School in 1948. Mary Lou married William Hughes Sr. in 1950 they had three children William (Bill) Hughes, Jr., of Vienna, WV, Betty Jean Canfield and Kim Louise Hughes both of Osage, WV. Mary Lou is survived by three granddaughters; Tiffany Ann Rife, Stephanie Jo Canfield, and Brittany Noel Canfield; three great-grandchildren, Lillian Rae Rife, John Christopher William Rife, and Anastasia Hannah. She is also survived by one sister, Gladys Fata of Osage. Mary Lou worked many years for WVU at Arnold Hall as a cook. She also worked for the Mon County Board of Education at Riverside Elementary as a cook till her retirement in 1990. Mary Lou loved to bowl, play bingo, and travel. She attended Scotts Run UMC and Avery UMC. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by a son-in-law Melvin Lee Canfield; brother James (Buster) Rancjik; three sisters, Virginia Rancjik, JoAnne Grimm, and Bessie Lee Beard; brothers-in-law George Grimm, John Fata, and Richard Beard; In-laws, John and Edna (Addams) Hughes. The family would like to thank Sundale Nursing Home and their staff for the care of our loved one. Family and friends will be received Thursday, September 24, 2015 from 4-7pm and again on Friday, September 25, from 10am until the time of service at 11am with Pastor Bill Page officiating. Burial will follow at the Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens.
