Mary Frances Grove

Mary Frances Grove, 78, of Ponte Verdra Beach, FL and Morgantown passed away surrounded by her loving family and Monsignor Logan at Jacksonville, FL, on August 28, 2010. She was born April 28, 1932 in Morgantown, WV to the late George E. Hess and Pauline Ida Smith. She moved to the beach area with her husband Gary 20 years ago and became a parishioner of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her husband, children and grandchildren. Mary is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, Gary W.; wonderful children, Louis Scotchel, Sr and wife Kathy of Morgantown, Pattie Lewis and husband Jim of Annapolis, MD, Donna Hall and husband Bill of Midlothian, VA and Sharla Lawrence and husband Jeff of Glen Allen, VA; precious grandchildren, Jessica Lewis and Eric Jones, Rebecca Scotchel, Patricia Polce and husband Guido, Louis Scotchel, Jr. and Courtney Cole, Artie Scotchel, Stephanie Hall, Lee Hall, Grace Lawrence and Jeffrey Lawrence; great granddaughter whom she dearly loved, Jada; brother, Howard Wolf and wife Millie; and her sisters, Barbara Beckley and Connie Kennedy. Mary was predeceased by her former husband, Louie J. Scotchel; sister, Isabell Hess; and brothers, Parley E. Hess and Larry Smith. Friends may call at the Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home, on Thursday, September 2, 2010 from 6-9pm. A scripture vigil will be held at 8pm. Mass of Christian burial will be held 2pm Friday, September 3, 2010 in the St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church with Rev. Father John V. DiBacco officiating. Burial will follow at the Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Mary's memory to Sisters of Our Lady of Charity, 141 Edgington Lane, Wheeling, WV 26003
