Mary Virginia Denjen

December 24, 1922 — August 29, 2010

Mary (Mari) Denjen, formerly of Westover was peacefully reunited with her loved ones in heaven on August 29, 2010. She died at Ruby Memorial Hospital. Mary was born December 24, 1922 in Bruceton, Pennsylvania. She was the fourth of six children born to Louis and Elizabeth Papp Denjen, Hungarian immigrants who came to America at the beginning of the twentieth century.In addition to her parents Mary is preceded in death by her maternal grandmother Maria Kuttor also from Hungary, who lived with the family; and siblings: Louis Rudy Denjen, Julius Denjen, Elizabeth Vlassich, Frank Denjen, and Julia Ann Mulvehill.Mary graduated from University High School and was employed in the company store by Consolidation Coal Company for more than 40 years. Following her retirement, she enjoyed international travel, quilting, bingo and most importantly spending time with her family and countless friends. She was an active member of the Senior Citizens Group in Morgantown and the Salvation Army Women's Club. She was a kind and generous woman of strong faith and belief in God and was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Morgantown She was known as "Aunt Mary" to generations of nieces and nephews and was deeply loved by all. She was the most loving and thoughtful aunt and will be greatly missed. She was a joy and blessing to everyone who knew her. Friends may call at the Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home on Thursday September 2, 2010 from 2-5 and 7-9pm. Funeral services will be held 10am Friday September 3 at the Fred L. Jenkins Chapel of Prayer with Reverend Dr. Al Cooper officiating. Interment will follow at the East Oak Grove Cemetery.
