Martha Neva Mcgee

September 20, 1920 — September 18, 2011

Martha Neva Staup McGee of Brookhaven, entered into the arms of her Savior on Sunday afternoon September 18, 2011, two days prior of her ninety-first birthday. She passed peacefully surrounded by her loving family. She was born in the Stewartstown Community on September 20, 1920 daughter of the late Benjamin Jacob and Isa E. Neighbors Staup. Martha was employed by WVU Housekeeping for 12 years and was baptized Apostolic and attended Riverside Apostolic Church. Martha had a great passion for music. She would play her piano by ear for anyone who would listen. She also enjoyed listening to gospel and country music. Other hobbies included her daily word searches, watching her favorite soap operas, talking on the phone with family and friends, and caring for her pets. She also enjoyed pitching horseshoes. She is survived by her son Ralph E. McGee, Jr. and wife Nancy of Severn, MD; daughter Doris M. McGee of Brookhaven; son Larry McGee and wife Shirley of Brookhaven; daughter Joyce Ann McGee-Varney and husband Ronald of Palm Beach Gardens, FL. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Carla, Teresa, Paula, Michael and Candace; eight great grandchildren Jason, Ashley, Jennifer, Chad, Jacob, Lindsey, Michael II and Summer; one great great grandson Jordan, several nieces and nephews, and special friend, her 47year old Panamanian Parrot, Polly. Martha was the last surviving member of her immediate family. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Ralph E. McGee, Sr., in 1974; twin sister Mary Harris, sisters Amanda Crawford, Sadie O'Shell, Opal Stiles and infant sister and brother Sarah and Frankie Staup. Also preceding her in death were 10 half brothers and sisters. Friends may call at the Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home Wednesday Sept. 21, from 3-5pm and 7-9pm and again on Thursday from noon until time of services at 1pm with Pastor Craig Falkenstine officiating. Burial will follow at the Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Martha's memory to Animal Friends of North Central WV 252 Brewer Rd. Morgantown, WV 26508, or to Monongalia County Humane Society P.O. Box 390 Morgantown, WV 26507
