Martha Jane Long

Martha Jane Long, a lifelong resident of Morgantown, WV, passed away peacefully on January 15, 2025, at the age of 76. She was born on March 14, 1948, to the late Ralph Junior and Martha Grace Beckman. Martha's kind spirit and warm presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Martha was a proud graduate of Morgantown High School. Her career was marked by her diligent service as a sales associate at Lowes, from which she retired after many fulfilling years. Martha took pride in her work but always cherished her well-earned retirement.

Those who knew Martha understood her love for a simple life. She was a person of private joys, content with the quiet moments of life and the comfort of solitude. Martha's memory will be cherished and live on through her beloved brother, Ralph Russell 'Rusty' Beckman of Montana Mines, WV, sister Cheryl Caldwell of Mercer, PA, and her adoring nieces, nephews, and extended family.

She is preceded in death by not only her parents but also her son, James Lewis Long, Jr., and sister, Dolores Beckman. Martha's grace and resilience in life's journey leave behind a legacy of strength and love for her family to honor and continue. Her gentle spirit will be forever remembered.

The family will gather on Tuesday, January 21, 2025 at the Fred Jenkins Funeral Home from 10 AM until the time of funeral service at Noon with Pastor Dan Meadows officiating. Interment will follow at the Arnettsville Cemetery.
