Martha Lipscomb

Martha Lipscomb, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away at her home on Monday, November 17, 2025, at the age of 82. Born on April 5, 1943, Martha lived a life filled with love and devotion to her family and community.

Martha is survived by her devoted husband of 64 years, Bruce Lipscomb; her sons, Craig Lipscomb of Morgantown, Warren Lipscomb of Fairmont, and Brian (Jennifer) Lipscomb of Trout, West Virginia; her brother Paul (Kim) Linderman of Morgantown; her sisters, Roberta Duell of Oswego, New York, and Mary Kay (Will) Schmidt of San Antonio, Texas; her grandchildren, Matthew (Charlene) Lipscomb and Seth Lipscomb, both of Morgantown; and her great-grandchildren, Peyton Lipscomb and Ty Fox. She also leaves behind a legacy of love and memories that will be cherished by her family and friends.

Raised by her grandparents, Noah and Nettie Moore, in Morgantown, Martha learned the values of compassion and selflessness from an early age.

She was preceded in death by her father, John W. Malott; her mother, Mary Louise Moore; her stepfather, Paul Linderman; her daughter-in-law, Terry Lipscomb; and her brothers, Ronald and his wife Pat Malott, and Wesley Eugene Malott.

Martha was a devoted homemaker who dedicated her life to her family and found great joy in hosting family dinners and social gatherings, which were the highlights of her days. Her unwavering support and generous spirit meant that she consistently placed the needs of others before her own. Even in her final days, Martha showed her selflessness, expressing her concern for the distress her illness caused her loved ones.

Friends and family will gather at the Fred Jenkins Funeral Home on Thursday, Nov. 20, 2025 from 2 -4 & 6 - 8 PM. Funeral services will follow on Friday, Nov. 21, 2025 at 10:30 AM with Pastor Rich Schmansky officiating. Burial will follow at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens.

Martha Lipscomb will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for her kindness, warmth, and dedication to family.
