Marilyn Virginia Skipper, born January 11, 1940, in Elkins, West Virginia, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2024, in Norfolk, Virginia, at the age of 84. She was a devoted homemaker, dedicating her life to her family with unwavering love and care.
Marilyn was a very kind and caring woman, known for her gentle spirit and warm heart. She found immense joy in spending time with her family and her beloved dog, Rascal. Her days were often spent doing yardwork and tending to her beautiful flower beds, where she found peace and solace. A fan of the Game Show Network, she especially enjoyed watching Steve Harvey, whose humor brought her much laughter and happiness.
Marilyn cherished her role as a grandmother to her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the light of her life. Her legacy of love and kindness will continue to live on through them.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold William Bolyard and Beryl Virginia Bolyard; her loving husband, Robert Lee Skipper Sr.; her son, Harold "Billy" Skipper; her brother, Harold "Frank" Bolyard; and her sister, Bernice “Mike” Trumbull.
Marilyn is survived by her two sons, Robert Skipper Jr. and Charles Skipper; her two daughters, Carlotta Cawthon and Anita Foster; and her three sisters, Jacqueline Jones, Patty Taylor, and Charlotte Frank. She also leaves behind numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family members who will deeply miss her presence in their lives.
Friends and family will gather on Sunday, December 29, 2024 from 2 PM until 6 PM. Visitation will continue on Monday at 11 AM until time of services at noon. She will rest with her husband at the WV National Cemetery.
