Marie "Deedee" Whetsell

Marie (DeeDee) Whetsell, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 26, 2024, surrounded by her family, at Sundale Nursing Home. Born on January 17, 1929, she graced this world with her presence for 95 remarkable years.

Marie was a devoted wife, sharing 53 years of wedded bliss with her late husband, Clarence Whetsell Sr. (Windy). Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and countless memories. Marie's loving heart extended to her only child, Clarence Whetsell Jr. Marie also played a huge part in raising her niece, Shelley Hose. As a grandmother, she delighted in her grandchildren, Robert (Rob) Whetsell, Douglas (Doug) Whetsell and Cynthia (Cindy) Bolyard, cherishing every moment spent together. She was blessed with 4 great-grandchildren, Kyle, Jace and Marianne Whetsell and Willow Bolyard. She was also a loving great-aunt to Holly and Heather Hose. She was a devoted sister to her siblings, the late June Marshall, the late Wesley Marshall, and her surviving sister, Shirley Smith.

Marie's legacy will live on through her family, friends, and church community. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Goshen Baptist Church Backpack Program, a tribute to her love for her late Daughter- In-Law and friend, Mary Ann Whetsell.
