Marguerite Susan Solly

Marguerite Susan Solly passed away on August 17, 2011, surrounded by the love of her children and grandchildren. Born in Coketon, WV, on November 29, 1920, she was the daughter of Scottish immigrants Henry and Mary Russell. A graduate of Morgantown High, Marguerite attended West Virginia University. She married Robert Solly on November 29, 1945, and worked as a lab technician in the Ag Science Department at WVU. Through the years Marguerite was a giving person and touched the lives of many people. Marguerite is survived by her son Bob (Barb) Solly and daughter Joanne Pollitt of Morgantown, and daughters Mary Jeanne (Steve) Kellogg of Montclair, VA, and Doreen (Jim) Price of Bethel Park, PA. Her grandchildren are Jennifer and Courtney Kellogg of Dumfries, VA; Rob Pollitt, Charlotte, NC; Traci Pollitt, Charleston, WV; Jonathan and Zack Solly, Morgantown; and Caitlin White and Olivia Price, Bethel Park, PA. She is also survived by great-grandsons Landon and Davin Solly of Morgantown and Joshua White, Bethel Park, PA. Her nieces and nephews include David Solly, Debbie McClead, Jimmy Davis, Jeff Davis, and Scott Davis. Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Russell, and brother, John Russell, Bill Solly, brother-in-law, and Delores and Jim Davis, sister-in-law and brother-in-law. Special thanks to Carol Mays, Sharon Rager, Rebecca Scheuch, Carrie O'Neil, Doug Esaw, and Matthew Chappelle of Hospice for their caring support of the family. Friends will be received at the Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home Friday August 19, 2011 from 3-5pm & 7-9pm and on Saturday from 10am until time of services at 11am with Rev. Matthew Chappelle officiating. Entombment will follow in Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
