Madeline Ruth Pratt

Madeline Ruth Pratt, 89, of Morgantown, passed away Friday August 1, 2014, at the Carolina Medical Center, Monroe, NC. She was born on March 1, 1925 in Morgantown, daughter to the late Arlie A. and Bertha King Smith. Madeline worked as a waitress in various restaurants in the Morgantown and retired from Tony's Restaurant. After her retirement she moved to Monroe, NC and made her home with her son Eugene. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Eugene D. Pratt; her stepmother Elizabeth Smith; two brothers Madison Smith and Jake Smith and one sister Josephine Cook. Madeline is survived by two sons, Eugene Carl Pratt and wife Anita of Monroe, NC and James L. Pratt and wife Beverly of Morgantown, WV; two sisters Ada Lewis and Helen Smith both of Morgantown, WV; three grandchildren, Ryan Pratt of NC, Erin Pratt of FL and Kevin Pratt of AZ; three great grandchildren, Phillip, Adalyn, and Peyton. Also surviving are several nephews. Friends may call at the Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home on Monday August 4, 2014 from 6-8pm and again on Tuesday from 10am until time of services at 11am. Burial will follow at the East Oak Grove Cemetery.
