Lucas Keith Chidester

August 19, 1985 — May 11, 2019

Lucas Keith Chidester, 33 of Morgantown, peacefully went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 11, 2019, surrounded by his family. Lucas was the son of Douglas and Rebecca Chidester of Morgantown.

Lucas was a loving son, brother, and Unkie. Lucas was a 2003 graduate of Morgantown High School and a 2006 graduate of West Virginia Junior College. Lucas was most recently employed with John Howard Motors.

Lucas was an avid sports fan and outdoorsman. He enjoyed cheering on the Mountaineers and the Dallas Cowboys with his father. Lucas also enjoyed fishing the streams of WV & MD, hunting the Ludwick farm in Burlington, WV and camping with his family at Holly River State Park.

Lucas had a love for music of all genres and enjoyed attending concerts with his friends.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sisters, Erin Chidester-Barrett and husband Chris, Cori Chidester-Santy and husband Josh; nephew Jude Barrett and niece Jocelyn Santy and many Aunts, Uncles & cousins and his friend Emily Werner.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, James and Bernice Buchanan and paternal grandparents Gerald and Tiny Chidester and his beloved dog Sophie.

Funeral services will be held 11 am on Friday, May 17, 2019, at the Fred L. Jenkins Chapel of Prayer with Pastor Kevin Cain officiating. Family will receive friends on Thursday, May 16, from 3 pm until 8 pm and again on Friday from 10 am until time of services at 11 am. Cremation will follow, and a private inurnment ceremony will be held at a later date.

Lucas enjoyed many summers at camp Kno-Koma, a summer camp for children living with Type I diabetes.
