Louise Dessie Shepherd

Louise Dessie Shepherd, 80, of Morgantown, passed away on Saturday April 29, 2017 at Ruby Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family. She was born December 4, 1936 in Pittsburgh, PA a daughter of the late Merrill and Ruth (Evans) Holsopple.

Louise worked for over 30 years as an office manager at WVU Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology. In her spare time she was an avid gardener. Her gardens were frequently featured during the Morgantown garden tour. She was also known as being crafty and creative. Louise enjoyed baking, knitting, and painting. She was a very talented seamstress and used to make many of her own clothes.

She is survived by a son Stephen Shepherd and his wife Leah of Morgantown; and two grandchildren Garrett Shepherd of Ruskin, FL and Landra Shepherd of Morgantown.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister Shirley Buchman and a brother Merrill Bruce Holsopple.

Honoring Louise’s wishes, cremation is being arranged by Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home.

Memorial services will be held at 1pm on Saturday May 20, 2017 at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 429 Warrick Street, Morgantown, WV 26505 with Jon Reed officiating.
