Lisa Renee Baker

Lisa Renee' Baker, 48, of Stewartstown Rd, Morgantown, unexpectedly went home with Jesus after a brief hospitalization at Mon General on Tuesday, July 21, 2015. Lisa was born on Oct 7, 1966 in Morgantown, daughter of Bob and Sandy Baker of Morgantown. She attended University High School, and also attended a typing program through VoTech. In addition to her parents, Bob and Sandy Baker, Lisa is survived by her brother Jason Baker and wife Elizabeth; her aunts, Wanda Areford, and Dixie Lemley and her uncle Vaughn Baker and wife Ruth. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, James Edward and Charmaine Johnson, and Vaughn and Violet Baker and two uncles Harry Areford and Charles Lemley. As a child, Lisa was named as the Easter Seals Poster Child for Monongalia County for the year of 1976. Lisa was a highly dedicated and longstanding member since 1976 of Fresh Harvest Assembly of God on Canyon Rd in Morgantown (formerly known as Maranatha Assembly of God). She was beloved by her church family, and was involved in several areas of ministry as a greeter, greeting card ministry coordinator, a choir member, and currently a member of the praise team. Lisa was known for her friendliness and smile, a natural encourager who also was involved in making "sunshine baskets" for ill members of the church. Some of Lisa's hobbies included being a passionate Penguins, Steelers and NASCAR (Dale Earnhart Jr) fan; crocheting, cross stitching and making dresses for dolls. She was an avid music listener, and loved attending dances at the Elks Lodge on Chestnut Ridge Rd. Even though her wheelchair prevented her from actually riding, she also loved motorcycles. Friends and family may gather at Fred L Jenkins Funeral Home, 10 South High St, Morgantown on Friday, July 24, 2015 from 5pm to 8pm and again on Saturday from 10am until time of services at 11am with Pastor David G Hood officiating. Interment will follow at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens.
