Linda Patterson

We are sad to announce the passing of Linda D. Stevens Patterson, who left this world on Friday, August 28, 2026, at her home in Morgantown. She was born on January 1, 1948, in National, WV, to Ira E. and Ada Page Stevens, who nurtured in her a kind spirit and a love for helping others.

Linda dedicated her life to caring for those in need, working as a nursing aide in various healthcare facilities throughout the Morgantown area. Her compassion and gentle demeanor had a lasting impact on her patients and their families, consistently going above and beyond expectations and touching countless lives along the way.

Linda is survived by her community of neighbors and friends who cherished her kindness and compassion. Among those especially dear to her was her neighbor, Linda Eddy, whose friendship grew into a bond much like that of sisters. She also shared a special relationship with Tammy Smith, who became like a daughter to Linda. Together, these treasured friendships brought Linda countless moments of companionship, joy, and laughter and were an important part of her life.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Thomas R. Patterson, in 2015. Linda's warmth and loving nature will forever be cherished by her family and friends, who will miss her dearly. Known for her fondness for the color purple, Linda brought joy and vibrancy to those around her.

Linda will be laid to rest at Beverly Hills Cemetery in a private ceremony that she herself planned. Linda's memory will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. May she rest in peace.
