Leonard Marvin Martin, Sr.

Leonard Marvin ‘Lenny’ Martin, Sr., 69, of Morgantown, passed away Thursday, March 17, 2022 at Mon Health Medical Center. Lenny was born May 14, 1952 in Fairmont, WV a son of the late Raymond and Verna Martin. Lenny is survived by his wife of 45 years, Wanda Martin; a son Leonard Martin, Jr. and wife Cassandra of Morgantown; son-in-law James McDonald of Morgantown; and two grandchildren Adam and Samantha McDonald; brother Raymond ‘Jr.’ Martin, Jr. and wife Janet of Morgantown; two sisters Nellie Lakatos and husband Robert of Morgantown, and Emma Muth and husband Michael of Alaska. In addition to his parents, Raymond and Verna Martin, he was preceded in death by a daughter Lisa McDonald; sister Stella Fullmer; and father-in-law James Franklin Potts. Lenny served his country as a Private 1st Class in the United States Army in Germany and Korea until being honorably discharged in 1975. Lenny was an employee of WV Division of Highways for 38 years. He never knew a stranger and would help anyone in any way he could. He loved to camp and was an avid fisherman. He loved his family and clowning around to make them laugh. He was well known for his sense of humor. Visitation will be held at Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 from 11am-1pm & 5pm-7pm, and again on Wednesday from 10am until the time of service at 11am. Honoring Lenny’s wishes, cremation will follow.
