Lena Zeni Solomon

Lena Zeni Solomon, 85 of Dorsey Ave., Morgantown, passed away on Friday, January 20, 2012 at her home. She will be sadly missed by loved ones. She was born in Pursglove on December 18, 1926, the daughter of the late Steve and Rosie Viola Zeni. She graduated from University High School in 1944. She attended the former St. Theresa Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her late husband, Victor Solomon. They owned and operated Vic's Garage at Pursglove and later moved and operated Vic's Garage and Towing and Vic's Salvage Yard at Laurel Point. She also worked at Solomon's Market in Osage, Hills Department Store in Star City and operated the Riverfront Lounge on University Ave. She enjoyed visiting various casinos and organized bus tours to Atlantic City and helped plan her 1944 class reunions. She especially enjoyed attending the local hot spots, playing poker with her group of card players, polka dances and going to the Golden Corral. She is survived by three sons, Victor, II, Gary and Steven Solomon and a daughter Cynthia Solomon Frisco; six grandchildren, Tracy, Victor, III, Shaina, Lana, Steven, Jr. and Ana; and seven great grandchildren. She is also survived by one brother, Steve Zeni, Jr., and two sisters, Mary Campbell and Carolyn Perroots. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her grandson Gary Lee Buddy' Solomon, Jr., The family extends their sincere thanks to Patricia Shannon, her caregiver. Friends may call at the Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home on Sunday, Jan. 22 from 4-8pm, Monday from 3-8pm and again on Tuesday from 10am until time of services at 11am with Rev.
