Lena Thompson Montonara

Lena Thompson Montonara, 90, of Morgantown formerly of Dekalb, TX passed away on Sunday October 30, 2011 at the Sundale Nursing Home. She was born August 7, 1921 daughter to the late John A. and Sarah C. Weathered Thompson. Lena was a Veteran of the US Navy and worked for the Laurel Bay Air Station in civil service. She was Baptist and a devoted church member and music director for all the churches her husband pastored. Lena is survived by one son Michael Mark' Montonara and spouse Liz of Atlanta, GA; two daughters Eleanor Robertson and spouse Greg of Raleigh, NC and Helen Cognac and spouse John of Morgantown; one brother Jack Thompson and spouse Betty of Las Vegas, NV; four grandchildren Erin Brasher and Lindsey Brasher both of Raleigh, NC and Andrew Cognac and Claire Cognac both of Morgantown. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years Michael Montonara. Honoring Lena's wishes cremation was arranged by the Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home. Memorial services will be held at the convenience of the family.
