Larry F. Boyce, 79, of Morgantown, passed away Thursday June 4, 2020 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born October 26, 1940 in Belle Vernon, PA, a son of the late Franklin and Opal Summers Boyce.
Larry honorably served his country as a member of U.S. Army from 1961 – 1964. After his honorable discharge, he went to work for the NSA in Fort Meade, MD. Larry would later move to Morgantown and work as a computer networker for NIOSH, until his retirement.
In his spare time Larry cherished coaching Little League and Senior Babe Ruth Baseball. He was an avid golfer and relished watching WVU Sports and the WV Black Bears. At home he enjoyed watching the fish in his aquariums and was a woodworker.
He is survived by his loving wife Mary Lew Boyce; sons Steve Boyce of Lexington, SC and Chris Boyce and his wife Ann-Marie of Clayton, OH; grandchildren Corey, Kyle, Gene, Leila, and Kelsey Boyce; brother Lanny Boyce; sisters Pam Triplett and husband Mel and Sharon Cale; and friend Lora Boyce.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Stephanie Boyce for all of her care and support that she gave to Larry and the family.
Honoring Larry’s wishes cremation is being provided by Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends at Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home on Monday June 8, 2020 from 12pm until the time of memorial service at 2pm with Pastor Dan Meadows officiating. Visitors will be asked to social distance from one another, wear masks, and avoid contact with members of the family.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Larry’s memory to the American Heart Association PO Box 417005 Boston, MA 02241-7005.
