Kenneth 'Spike' Charles Tritchler

March 28, 1945 — July 8, 2021

Kenneth ‘Spike’ Tritchler, 76, of Mount Morris, PA, passed away on Thursday, July 8, 2021, at Monongalia General Hospital surrounded by family. He was born in March 1945, in Morgantown, the son of the late Joseph “Buzz” and Mary Florence Tritchler (McCord).

Spike was a graduate of University High school where he was WV state wrestling runner-up in 1963. He also served three years in the US Army in the 101st Airborne. Upon his honorable discharge, he worked in the coal mines for 30 years and retired from Duquesne Light Warwick mine. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, horseshoes, and drinking Budweiser with his friends.

Spike is survived by his wife and high school sweetheart of 57 years, Mrs. Judy Tritchler (Phillips) of Mount Morris, PA; daughter Bobbie Jo Craynon of Core, WV; son Ken Tritchler, II and wife Carly of Canonsburg, PA; sister Louise Glash; brother, Gene Tritchler and wife Sheila, all of Morgantown. Also, surviving are his three grandchildren Brianna Craynon, and husband Lucas of Jakes Run, Kenneth Craynon of Core, and Kylan Tritchler of Canonsburg, along with several nieces, nephews, and longtime friend Rich White.

Spike was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Mary Florence, son-in-law, Michael Craynon, and brother-in-law James Glash.

The family will receive friends at the Fred Jenkins Funeral Home on Sunday, July 11, 2021, from 3 PM until 7 PM and again on Monday from 10 AM until time of services at 11 AM. Spike will be laid to rest at the Cedar Grove Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Mount Morris, American Legion Post 992 and WVANG, Kingwood.
