Kenneth M. Rowan, Sr.

Reverend Kenneth Maxwell Rowan, Sr., 83 of Mt. Morris, PA went home to be with the Lord on Monday January 18, 2010. Kenneth was born November 25, 1926 in Barbour County, WV son of the late Raymond and Edith Rowan. He retired from Osage number 3 mines with more than 38 years of service and was a minister of the Lord for more than 40 years at the Miracle Mission Church in Mt. Morris. Kenneth is survived by his wife of 39 years Mrs. Dorothy E. Rowan of Mt. Morris; sons, Kenneth (Punk) Rowan, Jr., of Mt. Morris, Albert D. Rowan; daughter Sandy Seaman and husband Jimmy, and Karen Mayle all of Morgantown; sisters Gladys Morris and Evelyn Lemasters of Morgantown; brothers Gene Rowan and Roger Rowan of Fairmont and Jim Rowan of Shelton, NC. Also surviving are several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter, Christine Diane; first wifeMargaret Pardee Rowan; sisters Thelma Mitchell, Louise Brown and Vernie Menear; brothers Arlen, Godfrey and Bussy Rowan. He died at home under the care of Hospice and his caregivers,son Kenneth, Jr., and Kelley Phillips. Friends will be received at the Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home Wed. January 20, 2010 from 5-9pm and again on Thursday from 10am until time of services at 11am with Pastor Fred Tomlinson officiating. Burial will follow at the Bethel Cemetery.
