Kathleen Marie Murray

Kathleen passed away suddenly and peacefully surrounded by her family at Mt Carmel East in Columbus Ohio. Kathleen was the oldest daughter of the late Edna Mae Katolsky Latusek Uphold and John Andy Latusek. She is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Lorn E. Murray and three daughters Kimberly and Brian Hartsell of Morgantown WV, Pamela and George Mayo of Morgantown, WV and Lori and Timothy Cunningham of Pickerington, Ohio. Five cherished and beloved grandchildren: Christian, Tyler and Victoria Hartsell, Payton and Reagan Cunningham. She is also survived by brother and spouse, Eugene & Debbie Latusek, a sister and spouse, Tina & Mark Helfferich and brother Robert "Bobby" Uphold. Brothers & Sisters in law, Glenda Latusek, Charlotte & David Tenney, Arthur & Carolyn ( Kay) Murray, Robert & Lucille Cassino and Terry Murray. Nieces & Nephews: Michael Cassino and Michelle Cassino Martin, Gregg Murray and Tonya Murray Wooldridge, Martina and Logan Helfferich, Andrew Latusek and Leslie Latusek Rayle, Mark Mayfield, Charlotte Mayfield Anderson, Jessica Uphold, Samuel and Christopher Murray and Trella Murray. Proceeded in death by two brothers, John "Kirby" Latusek, Frank "Watusi" Latusek and nephew Eric S. Latusek. Her in-laws, Otha "Bill" & Rachel "Rissie" Murray. Brothers and sisters in law, Edward "Sonny" & Anna Lee Mayfield and Samuel Murray. Born & raised in Morgantown WV, Kathleen was a graduate of Morgantown High School. As a profession, Kathleen worked for WVU as an Executive Chef for many years and also worked part-time as a cobbler and seamstress. She enjoyed sewing for her family and friends. She loved celebrating every holiday with her family and friends, as was evident by anyone who drove or visited her home on Darst Street. Most of all she loved to be surrounded by and attending events for her children and grandchildren. Recently retired, Kathleen was a volunteer at Mon General Hospital. She was an active member of St Francis De Sales Catholic Church and Beta Sigma Phi sorority. Family and friends can pay respects at the St Francis De Sales Catholic Church, Guthrie Lane, Morgantown WV on Tuesday, June 24, 2014 from 2pm-8pm and Wednesday, June 25 from 8am until Mass of Christian Burial at 10am with the Very Rev. Father Mark Ward, CP, VF as celebrant. Kathleen will be laid to rest at Nicholson Chapel Cemetery.
