Katherine D. ‘Debbie’ Stansberry, 65, of the Brookhaven Community, Morgantown passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by those who loved her dearly. She was born January 27, 1952, in Morgantown daughter to the late Rosealie Hovatter Faulknier, David Faulknier and her birth father Robert Jenkins who died at a young age.
Debbie worked most recently for King Enterprises and Kenyon Janitorial. Previously, she worked for Thatcher’s Glass Plant, while living in New Jersey.
Debbie loved Betty Boop, enjoyed the music of the Celtic Women and was an avid shopper. She loved spending winters in TN with her son and summers in Morgantown with her daughter. Debbie always put others before herself and was well known as the neighborhood mother to so many children.
Debbie is survived by her children; Jerry Lee Stansberry, Jr. of Watertown, TN; Sandra Sions and fiancé George Cerra of Brookhaven; special sister-in-law, Frances Stansberry of Keyser, WV; special friend Wilda Shaffer of Morgantown; brothers; Rick Faulknier of Morgantown, Russell ‘Bunny’ Barnett and wife Diana of Brookhaven. She also leaves to mourn, her beloved rescue dog, Jake.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Lee Stansberry, Sr.; brothers-in-law, Pete Stansberry, Sr., Phil Stansberry, James ‘Bubbles’ Stansberry and niece Sharon Berkshire.
Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home has arranged cremation services. Honoring Debbie’s wishes, interment of her ashes will be held at a later date.
