Katherine Elaine Baker

Katherine Elaine Baker, 61 of Granville, WV passed away Sunday October 28, 2012 at the Monongalia General Hospital. She was born January 1, 1951 in Morgantown, WV, daughter to the late David E. Snyder and Rosetta Yeager Snyder. Katherine was honorably discharged from the US Army in 1971. She then worked in various department stores, L.A. Joes, Hecks, Hills, where she was the shoe department manager and Wal-Mart. She also worked as an RN for Sundale and Mon Pointe Nursing Homes. She was currently enrolled in the University of Phoenix and would have finished her degree in December. Katherine had a big heart and would welcome anyone to her home that needed a place to stay. Her door was always open. She is survived by her daughter, Darla Ervin of Cheat Lake; brothers, Floyd Karo' Snyder of Granville, Edward Carl Buckskin' Snyder of Martin Hollow, Morgantown; sister Drema Lee Maloney of Daytona Beach, FL; grandson Wesley Rolland Baker of Morgantown. Also surviving are nieces Debra Rose, Rosetta Pearl Snyder and Virginia Rose Snyder all of Morgantown and many other nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home on Sunday November 4, 2012 from 2-4 and 6-8pm and again on Monday from noon until time of services at 1pm with Pastor Johnny Whitehair officiating. Burial will follow at the West Virginia National Cemetery in Pruntytown with military honors conducted by WVANG, Camp Dawson and the Taylor County Color Guard. The family would like to thank the staff of the Monongalia General Hospital for their outstanding care.
