Junior Rakosi

Junior Pookis' Rakosi, 86, of Granville, passed away Saturday, April 4, 2015 at his home. He was born Dec. 11, 1928 in Osage, WV son of the late William and Sarah Mullins Rakosi. Junior retired from the Osage coal mine in 1989 and was a member of the UMWA. Years ago he enjoyed hunting and fishing. During his retirement he enjoyed trips to the race track in Wheeling. He was Methodist by faith. Junior is survived by one son; Otis W. Rakosi and wife Charlotte of Granville; daughters, Linda Rowe and husband Stanley of Granville, Sarah Anderson of TN and Helen Marie Mongold of Morgantown; one brother Webster Rakosi of Maidsville; one sister Evelyn Curren of Orlando, FL; nine grandchildren, Brooke, Bryan, Rhonda, Tracey, Christina, Andy, Willy, Candy and Stanley and numerous great grandchildren. Also surviving is his close companion and caregiver, Joyce Rakosi. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Rakosi; one brother Otis Rakosi; one sister, Helen Sacchetti and one great grandson Thomas Rowe. Friends will be received at the Fred Jenkins Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 from 10am until time of services at 12 noon with Pastor Dan Meadows officiating. Burial will follow at the Olive Cemetery, Pentress, WV.
