Josephine Elizabeth Utt

Josephine Elizabeth Utt, 81, of Morgantown passed away Sunday June 12, 2011 at Monongalia General Hospital. She was born September 21, 1929 in Mannington, WV a daughter of the late William Leslie and Ada Stewart Hayes. Josephine was a graduate of Mannington High School. She worked for Montgomery Ward, and later for Farmers and Merchants Bank, One Valley Bank, and retired from BB&T Bank. She was a member of Goshen Baptist Church. She is survived by two sons Harold Utt and wife Donna of Locust Grove, GA and Carl Utt of Columbia, MD; a daughter Judy Williams of Frederick, MD; two brothers William Hayes of Mannington, WV and Thomas Hayes of Barrackville, WV; and two sisters Pauline Duncan and Nancy Gorby both of Mannington, WV. Josephine is also survived by a granddaughter Stephanie Danforth and husband Mike of Frederick, MD; two great grandchildren Addyson and Hunter Danforth of Frederick, MD; a sister-in-law Olive Marie Utt of Mannington, WV; and a brother-in-law Orval Utt and wife Thelma of Columbus, OH, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Garland Utt. Friends will be received at the Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home Tuesday June 14, 2011 from 3-9pm and again on Wednesday from 10am until time of services at 11am with Pastor Dan Meadows officiating. Burial will follow at Mannington Memorial Park Cemetery.
