Joseph Rosario Comberiati of Brookhaven, WV passed away on April 18, 2010 at his home. He was born June 5, 1922. After completing a printer’s apprenticeship he entered into service for his country as a communications expert in World War II. He received six bronze stars in the Pacific Theatre. After service he received a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Washington and Jefferson College. He then served the US Department of Energy for 36 years as a research chemist where he worked on coal/gas liquefaction receiving a patent for his research. He was Catholic by faith and attended St. Mary’s Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife of 63 years Angela; sons Joseph Comberiati and wife Marilyn, Barry Comberiati and wife Cathy and daughter Angela Warder and husband John Douglas. He had six grandsons, Barry Comberiati Jr., Grant Comberiati, Walker Comberiati, Geoff Warder and wife Kim Warder, Benjamin Warder and David Warder and one granddaughter Elizabeth Comberiati. He had one great granddaughter Alyssa Sisler. He was preceded in death by a son Larry Comberiati. Friends may call at the St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church Thursday April 22, 2010 from 11am until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 1pm with Rev. Father John V. Dibacco as celebrant. Entombment will follow at St. Mary’s Peace Garden. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home.
