Joseph Paul Brewer

Joseph Paul Brewer, 88, of Cassville, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, January 17, 2015. He was born, Sept. 11, 1926, in Cassville, son to the late Cole G. and Lillian J. Sutton Brewer. Joseph retired from CONSOL's Humphrey No. 7 mine with 44 years of service. He was a member of the Local 1058 and UMWA. Joe was World War II, Navy Veteran. Joe loved gardening and spending time on the family farm where he raised Black Angus cattle. Joe is survived by his wife of 67 years, Lena Brewer; daughters Barbara Drvar and husband Mike, Janet Petrucci and husband Jack all of Morgantown; brother Kenneth Brewer of Union, WV; one sister, Martha Ammons of Maidsville; four grandchildren, Tracy Casteel of Morgantown, Jennifer Wade and husband Brandon of Fairmont, Jay Petrucci and wife Jessica of Warner Robins, GA, and Ryan Petrucci and wife Erica of Morgantown. Also surviving are eight great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Joseph was preceded in death by an infant son, sisters, Katherine Urban and Frances Shelton Friends may call at the Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home on Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2015 from 5pm until 8pm and again on Wednesday from 10am until time of services at 11am with Pastor William Page officiating. Burial will follow at the Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens with military honors conducted by the Westover VFW Post 9916.
