Jonathan "Scott" Wiles, age 57, passed away peacefully on December 26, 2025, at Ruby Memorial Hospital. Born on December 3, 1968 in Elkin, North Carolina to the late Franklin G. Wiles and Donna M. Smoot. Scott was a cherished husband, father, stepfather, brother, and friend.
He was a devoted family man, deeply loving his wife, Lurena Wiles, with whom he shared a strong bond filled with joy. Together, they embarked on many memorable road trips, creating a lifetime of cherished memories. Scott will be remembered not only for his affectionate spirit but also for his thoughtful and selfless nature. He took great delight in sharing laughter, often telling jokes and enjoying comedy movies, and had a love for playing guitar. His beloved chihuahua, Sylvia, was always by his side, providing warmth and companionship.
Professionally, Scott served as an Electrical Planner for the federal government. He also honorably served in the United States Navy. Scott's kindness extended beyond his immediate family, as he embraced his role as a father figure to his wife's two children, continuously embodying the essence of a caring and involved Dad.
Scott is survived by his loving wife, Lurena Wiles; his son, Jon Wiles and daughter, Samantha Wiles; his stepchildren, Garrett Lindamood (Kylee Lindamood), Justin Lindamood, Kenleigh Cottrell (Andrew Cottrell), and Melanie Keaffer (Lee Keaffer); his beloved step-granddaughter, Charlotte Cottrell; and his brothers, Franklin Grant Wiles, Jr. and companion Lisa Stattler, Barry Allen Wiles, and Shawn Paul Wiles; and his sister, Jennifer Dawn Wiles.
A funeral service honoring Scott's life will be held on January 2, 2026, at 12:00 PM at Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home. There will be a public viewing preceding the service from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Following the service, he will be laid to rest at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens alongside his father.
