John Larry Thomas

John Larry Thomas, 73 of Morgantown passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday November 3, 2010 at the Monongalia General Hospital. He was born August 21, 1937 in Cassville, son of the late Lowell Butch' and Anna Thomas. John worked at Sterling Faucet, then later at CONSOL's Humphrey Mine until his retirement. John attended the St. John University Parish. John was a loving husband, brother, papa, uncle and kind hearted man. He loved to play his numbers and was a loyal WVU sports fan. He will be greatly missed by many family and friends. John is survived by his wife of 54 years Mrs. Patricia A. Thomas of Morgantown; daughter Roberta Jones and husband Dave of Atlanta, GA; sons, John L. Thomas, Jr., David Thomas and Daniel Thomas; sister, Jean Ponceroff of Morgantown; brother George Thomas and wife Connie of Cassville; sisters, Helen Massullo and husband Bob of Morgantown and Vicki McVey and husband Mick of Wisconsin; daughter-in-law Sharon Thomas; sister-in-law Mary Lee Thomas of Morgantown; grandchildren Shawn Thomas, Megan Thomas-Stevens, Rachel Thomas, Daniel Thomas II all of Morgantown, Genna and Jolie Jones both of Atlanta, GA; 11 great grandchildren; special nephew James Thomas and wife Amy of New Orleans, LA; also surviving are many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brother James Thomas, brother Bob Thomas and sister-in-law Virginia Thomas; brother-in-law Jake Ponceroff and two nephews Joey Ponceroff and Chris Thomas. Friends may call at the Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home Sunday Nov. 7, 2010 from 6-9pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10am Monday Nov. 8 at the St. John University Parish with Rev. Father Bekeh Utietiang as celebrant. Honoring John's wishes cremation will follow.
