John Clyde Smith

John Clyde Smith, 61 of Morgantown formerly of East Liverpool, OH passed away unexpectedly at his residence on Thursday June 24, 2010. He was born August 17, 1948 in Morgantown son of the late John Edward and Roberta Darnell Smith. John lived most of his life in East Liverpool until returning to Morgantown. He attended Beaver Local High School. He was drafted into the US Army during the Vietnam Era and was stationed in Germany where he was a helicopter mechanic. After returning from his service he was employed at Crucible Steel. John is survived by his three sons, Kevin Smith and wife Toni of Louisville, OH, Brian Smith and wife Aileen of Pooler, GA and Chad Smith and wife Jacklyn of Columbus, OH; four grandchildren, Gavan Smith, Cole Smith, Cason Smith and Tristan Smith; brothers Clifford Smith and wife Sandy of Wellsville, OH, Matt Smith and wife Beverly of East Liverpool; sisters Correne Ewings and husband Will of Youngstown, OH and Lilly Hogue and husband Tom of Springhill, FL. Also surviving is his sister-in-law Sharon Smith of East Liverpool, OH. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother Carson Smith. Cremation was provided by the Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home 10 South High Street Morgantown, WV 26501. A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.
