John Clarion Robinson, 77, of Morgantown, WV, passed away on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at his home, surrounded by his family.
Born on February 23, 1949, in Kingwood, John was the son of the late Richard "Dick" and Doris (Field) Robinson.
John was a graduate of Kingwood High School and went on to attend Fairmont State College, where he studied art.
He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force as a military police officer in Vietnam from 1968 to 1972.
Following his military service, John dedicated his life to public safety, earning numerous accolades throughout his career. He served as a police officer in Fairfax County, Virginia, later worked as a Crime Scene Investigator in Ft. Pierce, Florida, and also served as an EMT and 911 Director for Monongalia County, as well as several other agencies.
John enjoyed a wide range of hobbies, including RC racing, ultralight flying, boating, fishing, and golf. He was a member of American Legion Post 174 and the West Virginia VFW.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 33 years, Anna (Haymond) Robinson; two sons, Eric Nestor (Shelly) and Scott Nestor (Allaysha), both of Morgantown; and six grandchildren, McKenzie Thomas (Donovan), Hunter Nestor, Spencer Nestor, Kayleigh, Nathan, and Olivia. He is also survived by his sister, Karen Teets of Kingwood; his brother, Toby Robinson (Caroline) of Vero Beach, Florida; and several nieces and nephews, with a special place in his heart for Scott Moser of Kingwood.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his daughter, Jennifer Robinson; his brother-in-law, Mike Teets; and his parents-in-law, Lucille (White) Haymond Armstead, Cecil C. Haymond, and Burley F. Armstead.
In honoring his wishes, John will be cremated. A Memorial Service and Celebration of Life will be held at a later date at Jenkins Funeral Home.
