John Howard Quinn, 77, of Morgantown passed away Friday March 18, 2011 at Golden Living Center. He was born July 20, 1933 in Placious, TX a son to the late Sylvanious and Gladys Vineyard Quinn. He served his country during the Korean War as a member of the United States Navy. John was a manager of Hill's Department store for 18 years. He enjoyed playing sports. He played college football for Arizona State University and later played professional football for the Los Angeles Rams. He also enjoyed golf and coaching youth football and baseball. John was a member of the Star City Volunteer Fire Dept. He is survived by his beloved wife Norma Quinn of Morgantown; a son Jeffrey Quinn and wife Tracey and their children Megan Quinn and Courtney Quinn all of Star City; and a son Jason Quinn and his wife Miranda and their son Ashton John Quinn all of Morgantown. John is also survived by two sisters-in-law Nancy Sprague and Deborah Claussen and husband James all of Rochester, NY. Friends will be received at the Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home Sunday March 20, 2011 from 2-4pm & 6-8pm and again on Monday from 10am until the time of services at 11am. Burial will follow at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens with military rites conducted by Westover VFW Post 9916.
