John Junior Maloney Iii

John Junior Maloney III, 66, of Morgantown, passed away unexpectedly Monday April 30, 2012 at Monongalia General Hospital. He was born August 4, 1945 in Morgantown a son of the late Virginia and John Maloney. John was a 1963 graduate of Morgantown High School. He served his country as a member of the U.S. Air Force from 1963-1967. He worked as a purchasing agent for Morgantown Machine for 27 years, and later for Ludowici Innovative in Charleston, WV where he retired from in 2009. Over the years he enjoyed hunting, fishing, caring for his lawn and of course his West Virginia Mountaineers. John also refereed basketball games for 20 years at all different levels from elementary to college. He is survived by his wife of 41 years Judy McCartney Maloney; son Patrick Maloney and fiancé Robyn Yertzell; daughter Maria Maloney and companion Charles Hairston; granddaughter Ivory Hairston; grandson Charles Hairston; brother Bill Maloney and wife Michele of Morgantown. Friends will be received at the Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home Thursday May 3, 2012 from 2-4pm & 6-8pm and again on Friday from noon until time of services at 1pm with Pastor Jim Cooley officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hills Cemetery.
