John Wesley Lee

John Wesley Lee passed away at the JW Ruby Memorial Hospital on Sunday, May 24, 2026, at the age of 80. Born on January 10, 1946, in Pottsville, PA, John made his home in Morgantown, WV, where he lived a life filled with love for his family and a passion for the open road as a truck driver.

John was a proud dad to his two daughters, Erin (Douglas) Wegman of Terra Alta, WV, and Mary Abbott (Roland 'Jay' Abbott, Jr.) of McAlester, OK, and an adoring grandfather to his granddaughter, Katie Marie Lee. He also cherished his time with his sisters, Donna Sturm of South Carolina and Janice (Mark) Palmieri of Independence, WV, creating countless memories that will be held dear by his loved ones.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles V. and Lillian Ray Lee, his beloved ex-wife Kathleen Louise Lee, and brother-in-law Robert Sturm.

Those who had the pleasure of knowing John will remember him for his warm spirit and ornery sense of humor. A good-natured storyteller at heart, he brought joy to those around him and was always ready to lend a helping hand.

Friends and family will gather at the Beverly Hills Chapel of Tranquility Mausoleum, where a committal service will be held on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at 10 AM with Douglas Coombs officiating. Entombment will immediately follow.
