John B. 'Jack' Richards

John B. “Jack” Richards Sr., 78, of Morgantown, WV died Sunday, November 4, 2018 at his home with his family by his side. He was born January 28, 1940 in Carmichaels, PA. The son of the late Russell and Margaret Richards.

John was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, and great-grandfather.

He is survived by his wife Jacquelene Richards and would have celebrated fifty-five years of marriage this December; two sons, John Richards and wife Roxanne of Morgantown and Steve Richards of Morgantown; grandchildren, John Michael Richards, Kristen and husband Curt Gerard, Kari Richards and fiancé Joe Zeigler; great-granddaughters, Jaynie Rose and Lilly Anna Gerard and Zoee Anne Zeigler, all of Morgantown.

John is also survived by brothers, Frank Richards of Valley Point, Buck and wife Janet Richards of Valley Point, Paul and wife Loretta Richards of the Kingwood Pike; sisters-in-law, Barbara Richards of Valley Point and Pam Richard of Belleville, MI; also, many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister, JoAnn and husband Homer Adams; brothers, Bill, Dave, and Leroy Richards; sister-in-law Patty Richards.

John served in the US Army for two years from 1963 until 1965. John was a mechanic for Sterling Faucet for thirty years until they closed in 1996. He currently worked at Wal-Mart as an assembler for the past twenty years.

John enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, and gardening. His favorite color was camo. He especially enjoyed time spent with his family.

John’s family would like to extend our gratitude to the staff and nurses at Morgantown Hospice for the wonderful care he received.

Family and friends will be welcomed at Fred L. Jenkins funeral home, Tuesday, November 6, 2018 from 2pm until 4pm and 6pm until 8pm. Visitation will continue Wednesday, November 7, 2018 from noon until the time of service at 1pm at Mt. Moriah United Methodist Church with Rev. Vicki Sheppard officiating. Burial will follow at the Mt. Moriah Cemetery with military honors conducted by the WVANG and Preston County Honor Guard.
