Joan Bonnell Sims

Joan Bonnell Sims, 78, of Albright, formerly of Morgantown, passed away on Wednesday, November 11, 2020, at Mon Health Preston Memorial Hospital following a long illness. Joan was born July 4, 1942, in Morgantown a daughter to Sherman and Olga Corob Bonnell.
Joan was Apostolic by faith and retired from WVU where she worked in housing for more than 30 years. Joan was often quiet and reserved, keeping to herself. She enjoyed reading and watching her soap operas. Joan enjoyed her nephews and was always interested in what they were doing.
She leaves behind her only surviving sister, Alice Compton and husband Roger of Morgantown, nephews, Wesley Compton and wife Regina, of Morgantown, Eric McMillen of Albright, and Clint Bryan of Star City. Also, surviving are five great-nephews.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents Sherman and Olga Bonnell; brother, Robert Bonnell; sister, Rosemary Bryan, and two nephews, Jeffery Compton and Bobby Bonnell.
Graveside services will be held at 12 Noon on Monday, November 16, 2020 at the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Kingwood Pike with Pastor David Lee Corob officiating.
