Joan Gibson Shahan joined her father in heaven, Friday, January 12, 2018, with her family by her side. Joan was born in Morgantown on July 10, 1931, a daughter of the late Charles and Icie Gibson.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and loved spending time with her family. She was previously employed by Mon General Hospital in communications.
Joan is survived by her sons Toby, Gary and wife Abby, Larry and Denny Shahan and daughters Jenny and husband Tim Goodwin of Morgantown and Sheryl and husband Kurt Zachar of Rossville, GA; daughter-in-law, Crystal Shahan; 17 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Also surviving are her sisters Peggy and husband Billy Mullins and Dorothy Sine.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by sisters Betty Hiner and Helen McIntyre and brothers Irvin, David and Allan Gibson.
All are welcome to attend and celebrate Joan’s life at the Fred L Jenkins Funeral Home on Monday, Jan. 15, 2018 from 4pm until 7pm & again on Tuesday from 10am until time of services at 11am. Burial will follow at the Eden Cemetery.
