Jerry Ray Lambert, born on November 5, 1954, in Morgantown, West Virginia, passed away on February 3, 2026, at JW Ruby Memorial Hospital after a long five-month battle with various health issues. He was a beloved son, husband, father, and brother whose presence will be deeply missed by those who knew him.
Jerry proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1973 to 1977 as an Aircraft Maintenance Specialist, working on jet aircraft and embodying a spirit of dedication and service that would carry him throughout his life. Following his military service, he embarked on a career that included work at Kanawha Scales and as a truck driver, eventually retiring from the WVU PRT. His educational journey culminated in a Bachelor of Science Degree from Fairmont State University after graduating from Morgantown High School. He also earned two associate degrees, reflecting his lifelong commitment to learning and personal growth.
Known for his loyalty and simplicity, Jerry cherished his family above all. He loved traveling, engaging in good debates, and exploring history. His amiable personality and unwavering support made him a source of strength for many.
He is survived by his loving wife, Donna Darlene "Susie" Lambert; his son, Rob D. Lambert (Tasha) of Jasper, Alabama; his daughters, Amy J. Cavallier of Morgantown, West Virginia, and Carol (John) Summers of Reedsville, West Virginia; grandchildren, AnnMarie, Anthony, Drew, Leonard, Kristen (Adam); great-grandchildren, Clara and Everett, and his sisters, Linda (Steve) Morris of Clarksburg, West Virginia, and Cathie Carroll of Salisbury, North Carolina.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard Wade and Betty Marie Lambert; his first wife, Melody Cottrell Lambert; his daughter, Wendy Marie Lambert; and his brother-in-law, Mike Carroll.
Friends and family will gather on Monday, February 9, 2026, at the Fred Jenkins Funeral Home, located at 10 South High Street, Morgantown, WV 26501, from 10 AM until services at Noon, with Pastor Dan Meadows officiating. Following the ceremony, cremation will take place, and Jerry will rest at the Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Masontown, West Virginia, at a later date.
Jerry Ray Lambert leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and unwavering support for his family and friends. His contributions to the lives he touched will continue to resonate in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.
