Jennifer Sue Orr

Jennifer Sue Orr, 42, currently of Morgantown, previously of San Francisco, CA passed away on July 19, 2012 after a short and fierce battle with ovarian cancer. Jen, daughter of James & Susan McLaughlin and James W. Orr, was born in Morgantown, WV on April 13, 1970. She went to Morgantown High School and graduated in 1988. She went on to earn a degree in history from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. She worked in public relations for several companies and nonprofit organizations in the San Francisco Bay Area, but her true vocations were knitting, baking and avidly following Pittsburgh professional sports. Jen had hundreds of Twitter followers who tweeted and retweeted her expert and witty sports analysis. Jen is survived by her parents James & Susan McLaughlin and James W. Orr (and family) and three siblings: sister Lisa Orr, brother-in-law Lucas Lozier, and nephew Jackson of Pittsburgh; sister Beth McLaughlin, brother-in-law Pablo Mitchell, niece Ruby and nephew Tayo of Cleveland; and brother Alex McLaughlin, sister-in-law Ginger McLaughlin, nephew Noah and niece Charlotte of Charleston, WV. She is also survived by her aunts Marilyn Orr of Murrysville, PA and Janet Wilson (and family) of Ligonier, PA. The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to the entire staff of Mon General Hospital's 5th floor oncology unit for their expert care and support of Jen throughout her ordeal. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Amnesty International USA,5 Penn Plaza, New York, NY 10001. A reception and celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, July 21, 2012 at 1:00pm at Oliverio's Ristorante, 52 Clay St., Morgantown.
