Janet Marie Ernst

Janet Marie Downey Ernst, 70, of Morgantown, passed away on Friday July 7, 2017 at the WVU Hospital. She was born January 16, 1947 in Morgantown daughter to the late Paul and Emmaline Donaldson. Janet worked as a LPN in Morgantown and New Jersey for many years and was working toward her registered nursing certifications.

Janet attended the Fresh Harvest Assembly of God Church. Miss Janet was kind and considerate. She would go out of her way to help someone in need. Her career as a nurse spanned more than 30 years. Her caring nature and compassion for others will be missed by so many.

Janet leaves to cherish her memory; one daughter, Susan Downey of Fairmont, four sons, James Downey, II, Paul Downey both of Morgantown, William Ernst, II of Pittsburgh and Jonathan Ernst of Morgantown; 10 grandchildren and four great grandsons.

She was preceded in death by one grandson Robert James ‘R.J.’ Wilde and her first husband James A. Downey, Sr.

A Remembrance Gathering will be held on Saturday, July 22, 2017 from 5 to 6pm with memorial to begin at 6pm with Pastor David Hood officiating.
