Janet Sue Elli

Janet Sue Elli, 85, of Morgantown, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2026, after a long battle with cancer. She was born Sept. 4, 1941, in Morgantown, to the late Lillian Dalton and Emory Ellsworth Foy.

She enjoyed crocheting, making many prayer shawls for everyone, keeping in touch with her family on her iPad family page, tending to her always beautiful flowers, and seeing and being with, as well as caring for, her grandkids, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death are her parents, her husband, James Elli, Sr., her son, James 'Butch' Elli, Jr., her daughter, Sherri Stewart, and son-in-law, Donald Stewart; her sisters, Juanita Price and Debra Grives; and her brothers, James, Norman, and Randall.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Julie (Calvin) Strosnider and Lisa (Raymond) Fields and son Charles Elli. Also surviving are her sisters, Joann Foy, Nancy (Mike) Billie, and Rebecca Reckart; 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.

Friends and family will gather at the Fred L Jenkins Funeral Home on Thursday, October 1, 2026 from 2-4pm & 6-8pm and again on Friday from 11am until the time of the funeral service at 12pm with Pastor Dan Meadows officiating. Burial will follow at the East Oak Grove Cemetery.
